MASTER OF ARTS IN APPLIED SOCIOLOGY [MA APP SOCIOLOGY]

The Institute of Language studies and social sciences of CVM university offers distinctive Post graduate degree (Master degree) program in Applied Sociology. Sociology as discipline of social sciences touches the significant aspects of rural, urban and tribal dimension of Indian society. In keeping with, the program is designed with a view to have a comparative and systematic understanding of the society and its institutions. The program aim is to train students to systematically analyze the societal environment in which they live and become self aware and responsible citizens. The program is adopted as a course that will provide a sound theoretical understanding of modern social phenomena in combination with the skills necessary to apply this knowledge in various fields such as in the Government sector, NGO sector, Research and Project Management. The program gives equal importance to traditional and modern theories on one hand and a number of special fields of empirical Sociological studies on the other. The program also integrated 25 days internship/block placement in either an NGO or in the corporate sector and a Dissertation, the completion of which are deemed necessary for the successful completion of the program.
